The temperature of the heating plate can be set to 50-140 ℉, but the temperature of the space below the heating plate will be lower.
The brooder replicates the heat given from the mother hen. It includes an electronic temperature control mode for more precise temperature control. Chicks stay warm and cosy under the heat plate, just as they naturally would.
The height of the legs can be adjusted as your chicks grow (from 2.5cm to 17.8cm). You can also adjust legs to different heights if you wish to add a slant to the heater.
A safer alternative to a heat lamp as there is less risk of a fire hazard. Our models use between 13-50W.
The shell is made of flame retardant material to reduce the risk of fire.
Setting up your Brooder Hen
4 Simple Steps
Plug in the Brooder and allow it to heat up (this may take approx. 30-60 mins). Once warm the heat emitted by the plate will be consistent.
Set the brooder down on a flat surface and introduce the chicks to the plate
Ensure that the plate barely touches their feathers/fluff. Their natural instinct to keep warm will kick in and they will likely snuggle together.
Be sure to check on your chicks daily to ensure the height of the Brooder Hen is correct and adjust manually as needed
